How To Stop Procrastinating

If there's that one thing you are not doing, here's a quick solution

This morning as I wondered why I wasn't getting out there to create new networks I decided to write so I can figure out what blockages are holding me back.

Usually, I write my thoughts down every morning to bring out whatever obstacles might be holding me back.

Having certified from The Life Coach School (LCS) we call this a thought download. Others may call it journaling. I personally prefer the LCS definition because I relate better to that definition.

I also find this quote so powerful by American novelist Flannery O'Connor.

"I write because I don't know what I think until I read what I say."

So here is my thought download.

It starts here.

"I have found that I am not getting out to challenge myself, to do worthy fails. Why? I don't know what brain block I am having. Perhaps fear of failure?!? How can I be afraid of failure yet I teach my clients to break through the same blockages daily? It is true, it is fear of failure. What if I put myself out there, what is the worst that could happen?

A feeling?!?! A negative feeling and that’s it.

If I fail….. I will not be embarrassed by anyone except by my own thoughts about me. I will not be a loser except by my own thoughts about me. I will not be a failure, except by my own thoughts about me.

My resolution… It is okay to fail. It is okay to fail. It is okay to fail.

Behind one success story, there are possibly tones of failures.

I am going to challenge myself to create success, one failure at a time.

Failure is a lesson.

It is not by mistake.

It is an intentional lesson.

I embrace the power of failure because the success that follows will be sweet.”

The End.

That wasn't quite the end. I concluded my writing with three commitments and let me tell you, I was able to write myself into action!!!

So I strongly suggest you write yourself into action!!! It’s better than talking yourself into action, trust me!

When you start writing I recommend you have an end in mind.

My end in mind question was ‘how do I get to take action on the three commitments I have neglected?’

You’ll eventually write yourself into that feeling that you need to take action. Even when you need to take action underneath a negative feeling like fear or anxiety!!
